A fresh blog from a female, half-Canadian, hockey fan’s perspective. All the best stories coming out of the NHL (in my humble opinion). For more quick updates and article postings check out my twitter page at www.twitter.com/AndiPerelman.
More about me: I graduated from Georgetown University’s Sports Industry Management Masters Program, focusing on Strategic Marketing, Communications, and New Media.
I currently work with the Pittsburgh Penguins where I am a New Media Coordinator. I work on a whole bunch of things, but mainly I tweet all day long.
Prior to working for the Pens, I worked as a Social Community Manager & Trend Spotter at Brunner. At Brunner I provided clients with social media listening reports (using Sysomos and Netbase) to guide their social content output. Oh, and I wrote trend spotting reports that were leveraged for real-time marketing opportunities. Long story short, my business card said ‘trend spotter’.
Previously, I interned with Most Valuable Kids, where I provided underprivileged youth in the DC area the opportunity to go to professional and collegiate sports events. I also worked with Octagon Athletes and Personalities on a small public relations team. While at Octagon, I wrote marketing materials for agents, speaking clients, and athletes including Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Gabriel Landeskog, Jonathan Huberdeau, and Ryan Murray. I also had a stint operating all the social media for the Pittsburgh Power Arena Football Team.
While at the University of Maryland for undergrad, I played Ultimate Frisbee for 3 years and managed the Women’s Hockey Team in my senior year. In my spare time, I enjoy watching hockey, talking about hockey, and writing about hockey (sensing a pattern?).
I traveled around the world on Semester at Sea while I was a junior in college and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland in December, 2011.
